Senior Business Transformation Analyst for provincial government agency client, North York.

Job Type:  Temporary.
Initial Term:  From April 22, 2024 to October 25, 2024.
Compensation:  $100 per hour.

Regular Work Hours:  7.25 work hours per day not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week).
Work Location:  Hybrid combination of remote-based and minimum 3 days per week onsite at client’s North York office, on TTC line.

Responsibilities Summary:    
To identify, analyze, and facilitate capability modeling and business case development, identifying gaps in processes and data, and working through uncertainty to solve problems. Will develop solutions and provide recommendations that address the needs of the business and drives growth to meet strategic priorities.

  • Conduct analysis of existing documentation.
  • Document current processes through participation in and/or facilitate brainstorming sessions or workshops with stakeholders.
  • Ideate and facilitate discussion to document the conceptual target state processes to address gaps and pain points identified in the current state.
  • Perform research and conduct data gathering exercises to support options and recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to develop options and recommendations to meet a business objective.
  • Gather requirements and document detailed business requirements, use cases and user stories.
  • Elicit, document, validate and prioritize functional and non-functional system requirements in collaboration with business clients, end users and project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders cross functionally to develop a case for change taking into consideration people, process and technology.
  • Develop high-level rough order of magnitude cost estimates for project execution.
  • Assess various options across a defined set of criteria.
  • Monitor the business case and seek ways for value creation / optimization.
  • Additional business documentation, analysis and advisory responsibilities as required.

Qualifications: 
Education:  Post-secondary Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, or related discipline.
Professional Credentials:  Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation.
Preferred Work Experience:  At least 8+ years of experience in a similar role.
Preferred Sector Experience:  CPG or Retail sector experience an asset.

Technical and Language Skills Requirements:

  • Experience developing processes flows using BPMN 2.0 Standards.
  • Strong English communication skills, including advanced level business writing skills and verbal presentation skills suitable for a diverse range of audiences.

  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of Business Analysis and Business Architecture Frameworks, Change Management Principles, and Project Management.
  • Experience in writing use cases and business requirements documents.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity, see the bigger picture, and identify interdependencies across initiatives.
  • Possess a strong desire to innovate with a willingness to get involved at the base level.
  • Demonstrated record of professional conduct and character. Responsible, reliable and works to deadlines.
  • Pleasant and courteous.  Demonstrated commitment to client service and professional representation of the organization.
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and engage with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, at all levels of seniority.
  • Proven ability to respond to sensitive and confidential matters with tact, discretion, and excellent judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply project management principles, methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong relationship management skills including client and vendor relations management, business networking, negotiation, change management and consulting/advisory skills.

Additional Requirements: 

  • Candidates selected for interview will be required to submit a sample of a business case or capability model that they developed independently. 
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work both remotely and onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities.
  • Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
  • Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, and Employment References.
