Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator for financial services client, North York.

Job Type:  Permanent Full Time.
Compensation:  $55,000 to $60,000 per annum (with some flexibility according to experience), full benefits, and additional incentives.

Regular Work Hours:  FULL TIME HOURS From 9 am to 5 pm including 1 hour lunch break, Monday to Friday (35.0 work hours per week).  Occasional overtime required according to business need.
Work Location:  Hybrid – combination of 3 days remote-based and 2 days onsite at client’s North York office, with option to work 100% remote-based during the winter months.  

Responsibilities Summary:  
As part of a dedicated professional team, will provide senior level, full cycle accounts payable services in a high volume, deadline driven environment, efficiently managing multiple tasks and deliverables, and contributing to department’s continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manage Accounts Payable mailbox, receiving, recording, coding, tracking, responding to and forwarding incoming email and hard copy correspondence as required.
  • Review invoices and expense reports for appropriate documentation and coding of accounts and departments.
  • Investigate and resolve AP issues.
  • Process invoices and expense reports for payment approval.
  • Perform analysis and reconciliation of accounts and prepare various schedules.
  • Support month end closing processes.
  • Prepare year end working papers.
  • Assist with ongoing streamlining and improving of accounts payable processes and procedures.
  • Additional full cycle accounts payable processing and reporting responsibilities as required. 

Qualifications: 
Education: High School Diploma, with additional post secondary education in accounting or business administration an asset.
Preferred Work Experience: Approximately 5+ years of progressive experience in a high volume, full cycle Accounts Payable role.
Preferred Sector Experience: Professional service organization preferred.

Technical and Language Skills Requirements:  

  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounts payable processes (will be tested).
  • Proficient MSExcel (will be tested).
  • Strong data entry skills (will be tested).
  • Strong arithmetic skills (will be tested).
  • Superior attention to detail (will be tested).
  • Experience with Concur software (may be tested).
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, including satisfactory business writing skills and professional telephone manners.

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work both remotely and onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
