Scanning Clerk for provincial government ministry client, various Toronto work locations.

Compensation: $22/hr

Regular Work Hours: 7.25 hours per day not including unpaid 1 hour lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week).
Work Location: 100% onsite. You must be available to be deployed to all of the listed Toronto work locations as requested: Queen & Bay; Yonge & College; Jarvis & Gerrard;  Warden and Eglinton Avenue East; Dufferin & Finch Avenue West; Weston & Finch Avenue West.
Ergonomic Requirements: In addition to regular desk work, this position will require standing for extended periods of time; walking between different areas of each work location; handling paper files; and possible bending, crouching or overhead reaching to retrieve or re-file hard copy files from internal filing systems.
Travel Requirements:  Must be able to commute to all of the above listed GTA work locations upon request; all work locations are TTC accessible.
Onsite Dress Code:  Business Casual Dress; Non-Scented Personal Products Workplace Policy in effect.

Responsibilities Summary:    
To scan and digitize high volume of paper-based legal documentation, which will allow easy access to data and edits to digitized documents.

  • Prepare paper-based documentation for scanning process by removing paper clips and staples, unfolding documents, and sorting them in the correct order. 
  • Scan paper-based documentation and check for quality of scanned images.
  • Sort, index and file documents using required naming conventions, and upload into electronic file storage system.
  • Refile paper documents.
  • Additional clerical, scanning and documents-handling tasks as required.
  • Training provided.

Qualifications:    
Education:  High school Diploma
Preferred Work Experience:  At least 1+ years of related clerical and documents processing experience, from either a work, volunteer or academic setting. 

Technical and Language Skills Requirements: 

  • Accurate data entry and keyboarding skills (will be tested).
  • Basic computer proficiency to perform clerical and scanning tasks.
  • General familiarity with and comfort operating office equipment, specifically high volume scanners.
  • Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, including satisfactory writing skills and professional telephone manners.

Additional Requirements:    

  • Ability to report to any of the above listed Toronto work locations as requested.  
  • Ability to provide qualified references promptly upon request. These references must be reachable by phone, and be willing to answer detailed questions about your reliability, character and work performance.  
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) upon request. Please note that Marberg will reimburse for the cost of this check upon confirmation of our Client’s selection of your Application and submission of approved Expense Receipts.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
  • Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
  • Provision of certification of full COVID-19 vaccination series prior to assignment start.
  • Additional satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, and Employment References as required.
