Recruiter for provincial government agency client, downtown Toronto

Compensation: $24.20 per hour

Regular Work Hours: 7.25 work hours per day, not including unpaid 1 hour lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week).
Work Location: Hybrid – 4 days remote-based, 1 day onsite at Client’s downtown Toronto office near Union and GO Stations.

Responsibilities Summary:
Manage all aspects of recruitment life-cycle for entry level positions and mass recruitments, and provide support to Talent Acquisition Consultants for other recruitment initiatives.

  • Manage all aspects of full-cycle recruitment process for entry level positions and multiple roles.
  • Establish recruitment timelines with hiring party.
  • Prepare job postings for internal and/or external posts. 
  • Screen candidates against job qualifications. 
  • Conduct telephone interviews. 
  • Provide input on appropriate selection tools. 
  • Communicate results of recruitment project (offers and regrets).
  • Provide feedback on recruitment process and results.
  • Manage the data/metrics associated with recruitment process to ensure all relevant data on applicants is available for analysis.  
  • Monitor work of supporting Talent Acquisition Coordinator to ensure recruitment tools in place and timelines on track. 
  • Provide advice on recruitment policy, best practices and legal and collective agreement obligations related to recruitment. 
  • Additional full cycle recruiter / talent acquisition responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:  
Education:  Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management.
Professional Credentials: Working towards Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
Preferred Work Experience: At least 2+ years of recruitment experience.
Preferred Sector Experience:  Unionized employment environment preferred.

Technical and Language Skills Requirements:  

  • Proficient MSOffice (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Familiarity with HRIS or ATS system.
  • Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong business writing skills and polished, professional telephone manners.

  • Advanced organizational, coordinative and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work effectively for self and others, meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong relationship management skills including client and vendor relations management, change management and consulting/advisory skills.  Excellent listening skills, and the ability to provide and receive effective feedback.  
  • Demonstrated successful experience of prioritizing work, making decisions and communicating with others within a values framework of respect, equity, anti-racism, diversity and inclusivity.

Additional Requirements:    

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work both remotely and onsite as required, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities prior to assignment start.
  • Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
  • Provision of certification of full COVID-19 vaccination series prior to assignment start.
  • Satisfactory Background Checks and Employment References.
