Payroll & Benefit Administrator required for a not-for-profit Organization in York Region

Job Type: Temporary, full-time hours
Hours: 35 hour work week, evenings & weekends may be required

Responsibilities:

  • Directly supporting Senior Director and Finance officer in all payroll & benefits administration
  • Processing a full complex payroll cycle from beginning to end in addition to benefit and payroll administration, T4 and reconciliation preparation
  • Working within a comprehensive HRIS/HCM for payroll, time and attendance
  • Administration of WSIB, EHT and other government reporting
  • Maintaining data accuracy of the payroll system, 
  • Processing bi-weekly payroll for 300+ employees
  • Responsible for year-end audits and monthly reconciliations 
  • Administration of all employee group benefits including pension plans and workplace health and safety 

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of payroll processing experience 
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner Designation required or equivalent  
  • Valid Canadian G Driver’s License & access to a  reliable vehicle 
  • Excellent accounting knowledge and analytical skills 
  • Strong Microsoft Office Proficiency; including excel & outlook
  • proficiency with Ultimate Software (Ultipro) an asset
  • Excellent problem solving and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines 
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
