Job Type:  Temporary Assignment/Initial 2-4 Week Term

Hours:  Full Time, Regular Business Hours

Responsibilities:

  • Completion of dictation provided by the lawyers
  • Preparation of pleadings, correspondence and reports
  • Prepare and assemble Affidavits, Trial Binders, Briefs and Reports and additional Litigation documentation
  • Review and proofread documents with accuracy
  • Answer telephone calls and take messages in a professional manner, scheduling appointments and meetings accordingly
  • Maintaining calendars and Bring Forward systems
  • Docketing
  • Additional legal administration duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years legal administration experience in a litigation practice
  • Ability to liaise professionally with clients, other legal administrative staff and lawyers
  • Excellent dicta typing and proofreading skills
  • Excellent knowledge of litigation rules, forms and procedures
  • A self starter with little need for guidance
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to be a team player, as well as work independently
