IT Technical Support Specialist for provincial government agency, downtown Toronto.

Initial Term: ASAP to September 23, 2022, with possibility of additional extension.
Compensation: $34.61 per hour.

Work Hours: 7 work hours per day, not including unpaid lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (35 work hours per week).
Work Location: 100% onsite at Client’s downtown Toronto office, on PATH, and near TTC station.  

Responsibilities Summary:    
As part of a busy IT support  team, will respond promptly, concisely and professionally to technical support and service requests via telephone, email and online chat, as well as providing onsite helpdesk support services as required.

  • Install and configure workstations, printers, scanners, mobile devices, third-party software and custom developed applications.
  • Report back on problems and solutions, and draft technical documentation.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot hardware, software and networking-related issues.
  • Participate in hardware and software implementation projects and roll-outs.
  • Train clients on use of software, computer systems and peripherals, adapting as needed to different skill levels and learning styles.
  • Assist with IT procurement, including product research, updating inventory and record-keeping.
  • Additional IT Helpdesk and Client Support responsibilities as required. 

Qualifications:
Education: College diploma in Computer Science.
Preferred Work Experience:  At least 2+ years of progressive, related IT technical support experience, both remote and onsite.

Technical Skills Requirements:  

  • Sound knowledge of MS Windows 10 (will be tested).  
  • Advanced proficiency in MSOffice software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (will be tested).  
  • Experience supporting iPhones, tablets and other mobile devices.
  • Experience working with incident tracking software.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Lotus Notes Client 8.5, and experience working with Lotus Notes databases preferred
  • Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, including satisfactory technical documentation and business writing skills.

  • Strong relationship management skills including change management and consulting/advisory skills. 
  • Excellent listening skills, with the ability to provide and receive professional, effective feedback.

Additional Requirements:    

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
  • Ability to promptly provide a minimum of 3 recent, easily reachable, qualified employment references upon request.
  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities prior to assignment start.
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory Provincial Government security check, including a Fingerprint Check prior to assignment start. Please note that Marberg will reimburse for the cost of the Fingerprint Check upon your acceptance of Assignment Offer and submission of approved Expense Receipts.
  • Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
  • Provision of certification of full COVID-19 vaccination series prior to assignment start.
  • Additional satisfactory Background Checks and Technical Skills Evaluations as required.
