IT Support Specialist for not-for-profit community services client, downtown Toronto.

Initial Term: August 21, 2023 to November 17, 2023.
Compensation: $35.28 Per Hour.

Regular Work Hours: FULL TIME WORK HOURS currently 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday (35 work hours per week). Shift will change to 9 am to 5 pm not including 1 hour unpaid lunch after Labour Day.
Work Location: 100% onsite at Client’s downtown Toronto office, near TTC station.

Responsibilities Summary:
To provide tier-2 level application and technical support services to staff.

  • Promptly respond to phone, voice mail and self-service inquiries.
  • Log and track incidents and requests in FreshService help desk management system.
  • Follow up with end users, provide status updates, and see problems through to resolution.
  • Prioritize issues and requests and escalate when required.
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot basic network, printer, remote access and connectivity issues.
  • Assist with hardware & software inventory management.
  • Identify and document processes and procedures.
  • Additional technical support responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
Education: Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in IT-related discipline, or applicable combination of work experience and education.
Preferred Work Experience: At least 2+ years of experience in IT support.

Technical and Language Skills Requirements:

  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft Office 365 applications (may be tested).
  • Knowledge of onboarding laptops using Microsoft Intune (may be tested).
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, FTP), Remote Access, Mac OSX, Printers/Projectors, Polycom Room Video systems (may be tested).
  • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware issues (may be tested).
  • Experience using FreshService help desk management system an asset.
  • Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong business writing skills and polished, professional telephone manners.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities prior to assignment start.
  • Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
  • Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, and Employment References as required.
