File Clerk for provincial government agency client, Mississauga and Oakville facilities.

Job Type: Temporary.
Initial Term: ASAP for approximately 2-3 months.
Compensation: $20 per hour.

Regular Work Hours: From 9 am to 5 pm not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday (35.0 work hours per week).
Work Location: 100% onsite across 2 facilities in Oakville and Mississauga, with free parking provided at both sites.
Ergonomic Requirements: In addition to regular desk work, the position will require regular standing, crouching, bending and lifting weight of up to 50lbs, walking across floors and to the loading dock, pushing or pulling a dolly or cart, handling paper records that may be dusty, and other ergonomic activities associated with organizing hard copy files and office supplies.
Travel Requirements: Must be able to easily commute to both Mississauga and Oakville locations; access to own vehicle is necessary.

Responsibilities Summary:  
Working as part of a clerical team, will prepare a high volume of hard copy records for relocation, archiving or disposal.

  • Review, sort and code paper records according to subject matter and indexing system.
  • Consolidate and re-label records as required.
  • Index and scan records into an electronic file management system.
  • File and box records according to index system.
  • Prepare records for transport, re-shelving or disposal.
  • Assist with organization of additional business materials and supplies as directed.
  • Additional records management and clerical responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:    
Education: High school Diploma.
Preferred Work Experience:  Approximately 1+ years of clerical office experience.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements:    

  • Proficiency in MSOffice Word and Excel (will be tested).
  • Proficient data entry skills and attention to detail (will be tested).
  • Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong reading comprehension skills.

Additional Requirements:    

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs., and meet the other ergonomic requirements of the position.
  • Ability to easily commute to both Oakville and Mississauga job site (access to own vehicle required).
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies
  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities.
  • Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
  • Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, and Employment References.
