ETL Developer – Information Management Analyst for non for profit community services agency client, downtown Toronto.

Job Type:  Temporary.
Initial Term:  August 21 2023 to November 17 2023, with possibility of extension.
Compensation:  $45.84 per hour.
Regular Work Hours:  FULL TIME HOURS – currently 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday (35 work hours per week). Shift will change to 9 am to 5 pm not including 1 hour unpaid lunch after Labour Day.
Work Location: 100% onsite at client’s downtown office, near TTC station.

Responsibilities Summary:  
To utilize deep knowledge of ETL, data modeling, database development and SQL programming to maintain and sustain existing data warehouse, design and expand its functionality, test and troubleshoot for ETL issues, and build dashboards and reports to satisfy data queries and requests.

  • Daily maintenance of data warehouse, accessing and loading data from multiple data sources, and ensuring ETL functionality.
  • Adjust SSIS packages to accommodate data source changes.
  • Develop and refine SSIS and SSAS cubes/data marts.
  • Build, develop and refine reports and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Troubleshoot ETL issues.
  • Additional BI and ETL functions and responsibilities as required. 

Qualifications: 
Education:  Post secondary Degree or Diploma in Information Management, Math, Statistics, Software Development, Business Administration, Health Administration, or related discipline.
Preferred Work Experience:  At least 3+ years of progressive work experience in the field of BI development, SQL programming, and data reporting and analytics.
Preferred Sector Experience:  Experience in health care or social services sector an asset.  

Technical and Language Skills Requirements:  

  • Advanced SQL programming skills (may be tested).
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI (may be tested).
  • Strong knowledge of ETL processes and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Azure Platform.
  • Cognos Reporting an asset.
  • .Net. an asset.
  • Proficiency with additional Business Intelligence Tools an asset.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, including advanced level technical and business writing skills, and proficient verbal presentation skills suitable for a range of audiences.

Additional Requirements:    

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities.
  • Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
  • Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, and Employment References.
