EDI Specialist (Equity-Diversity-Inclusion) for government agency client in downtown Toronto.

Job Type: Temporary.
Initial Term: 12 months with possible extension or conversion to direct hire.
Compensation Range: $41 per hour to $55 per hour according to experience.
Regular Work Hours: 7.25 work hours per day, not including unpaid .75 hour lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week).
Work Location: Hybrid – currently largely remote-based, with some onsite work at client’s downtown Toronto office, near TTC station.
Responsibilities Summary:
The EDI Specialist will lead and provide direction to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion projects and initiatives.
- Lead, create and deliver employee Equity, Diversity and Inclusion programs
- Work collaboratively, with all stakeholders, to support ongoing initiatives across all aspects of the employee experience to foster a more diverse and inclusive workplace
- Facilitate working groups, committees and project teams
- Monitor and report on program effectiveness and progress
- Develop evaluation tools and processes.
- Build strong relationships with all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education: University Degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Work Experience: At least 3+ years experience in similar role.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements:
- Proficiency with MSOffice software and online databases.
- Experience with HRIS systems.
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong business writing skills and verbal presentation skills.
Task -Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes:
- Proven ability to facilitate multi-disciplinary committees and project teams
- Experienced lead of project management initiatives.
- Experience with program management, change management and program development.
- Must be skilled with project management platforms and systems
- Ability to lead tactical and strategic initiatives.
- Proven time management skills, and ability to work to deadlines.
- Organized, professional with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate key concepts, making these relevant to team member.
- Superior interpersonal and presentation skills
Additional Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
- Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities.
- Ability to work both remotely and onsite, abiding by organizational health and safety policies.
- Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
- Satisfactory Background Checks and Employment References.
