Construction Project Bookkeeper for construction company client, North York office.

Compensation: $60,000 to $65,000 per annum, plus full benefits.
Regular Work Hours: FULL-TIME WORK HOURS – 8:30 am and 5 pm with .5 hour lunch break, Monday to Friday (40 work hours per week).
Work Location: 100% onsite at Client’s North York office, near TTC station and with free parking available.
Responsibilities Summary:
To provide full-cycle bookkeeping, billings, and payroll services for construction project management team.
- Prepare project financial statements and reports including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow, budgets and forecasts, ensuring compliance with all GAAP and tax regulations.
- Handle all accounts receivable, accounts payable and bank deposit processes.
- Administer full cycle hourly and salaried payrolls using ADP systems. Review timesheets in order to prepare client billings statements.
- Process project billings and expense allocations.
- Process government remittances including HST, Corporate Tax, EHT, WSIB, etc.
- Contracts administration including review of Statutory Declarations and Holdbacks, payments statements, and outstanding balances.
- Assist job costing budgets, variance analyses, and cash flow management plans.
- Prepare month-end and year-end schedules and working papers.
- Additional project accounting, bookkeeping and payroll processing responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Education: Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline, or applicable combination of work experience and education.
Preferred Work Experience: At least 6+ years of full cycle bookkeeping experience.
Preferred Sector Experience: Construction sector experience preferred.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements:
- Proficiency in Quickbooks (will be tested).
- Proficiency in ADP payroll systems (may be tested).
- Proficiency in MSOffice including advanced Excel (will be tested).
- Strong data entry skills (will be tested).
- Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong business writing skills and polished, professional telephone manners.
Task -Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes:
- Thorough understanding of cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and project management processes.
- Familiarity with the Construction Lien Act.
- Punctual, responsible, and reliable. Demonstrated record of professional conduct.
- Pleasant and courteous: demonstrated commitment to client service and professional representation of the organization.
- Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy.
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
- Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
- Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities prior to assignment start.
- Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
- Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, and Employment References as required.
