Billing Coordinator for international financial consulting client, North York.

Compensation:  From $55,000 per annum to $55,000 per annum, plus full benefits.

Regular Work Hours: FULL TIME HOURS; from 9 am to 5 pm including 1 hour lunch break, Monday to Friday (35 work hours per week).  Overtime will be required during month end, quarter end and year end.
Work Location: Hybrid – combination of 3 days remote-based and 2 days onsite at client’s North York office.  Please note that the position is 100% remote-based during the winter months.  

Responsibilities Summary:  
Reporting to CFO, will maintain client accounts for Canadian offices, and act as primary point of contact for Timesheet and Billing Systems for Toronto office (located in North York).

  • Perform daily bank deposits, ensuring timely and accurate deposit information.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries and investigate accounts receivable (A/R) issues.
  • Perform GST and HST payable calculations.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations.
  • Perform month end close and reporting.
  • Perform month end analysis of billing transactions.
  • Process month end journal entries.
  • Provide year end schedules and reports.
  • Scan and file supporting hard copy documentation.
  • Additional billings, accounts receivable and general accounting clerical responsibilities as required. 

Education:  High School Diploma.  Additional post secondary education in accounting or business administration an asset.
Preferred Work Experience: Approximately 2+ years of progressive work experience performing billings and other accounting clerical functions.
Preferred Sector Experience:  Previous experience from a professional services / consulting firm is an asset. 

Technical and Language Skills Requirements:  

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (will be tested).
  • Proficient MSOffice including Word, Outlook and advanced Excel (will be tested).
  • Proficient arithmetic skills (will be tested).
  • Strong alpha-numeric data entry skills (will be tested).
  • Superior attention to detail (will be tested).
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, including satisfactory business writing skills, and professional telephone manners.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset. To be represented as bilingual, you will need to complete a satisfactory French fluency test.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:    

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work both remotely and onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of position responsibilities.
