Bilingual Receptionist – Executive Office, Provincial Government Ministry client in downtown Toronto.

Job Type: Temporary, initial term 3-6 months.
Compensation: $23/hr to $26/hr.
Work Location: Onsite, in Ministry’s Executive Office, downtown Toronto location on TTC line.
Dress Code: Corporate dress, with facemask to be worn in designated areas of client building as required.

Responsibilities Summary:    

  • Professionally greets visitors and callers in either French or English, determines the nature of their business, and directs them to the appropriate person or meeting location.
  • Responds to standard inquiries by phone or email in either French or English, and provides related corporate information as appropriate.
  • Maintains general department email inbox, reviews incoming French or English email, and responds to, flags or escalates emails as required.  
  • Receives and forwards incoming mail and courier deliveries.
  • Makes catering arrangements and books onsite meeting rooms.  Assists with set-up and tear-down of meeting rooms as required.
  • Schedules and confirms online appointments and meetings.  
  • Assists with special event registration as required.
  • Maintains inventory of office supplies.
  • Additional Receptionist responsibilities as required by a bilingual French-English Executive Office.  

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience:  At least 1+ years of Reception or Office Administration experience in a bilingual French-English capacity, from an organization head office or equivalent employment environment.

Technical Skills Requirements:    

  • Fluency in French and English, both written and verbal (will be tested).
  • Proficiency in MS Office software, specifically Word and Outlook (will be tested). 
  • Accurate typing and data entry skills (will be tested).
  • Proficient business writing skills (will be tested).

  • Demonstrated successful experience of prioritizing work, making decisions and communicating with others within a values framework of respect, equity, anti-racism, diversity and inclusivity.
  • Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, Employment References and COVID Clearance as required.
