Job Description: 

Policy Analyst required for a Provincial Government office. Responsibilities are to provide information research, collection and analysis services in support of policy development projects and issues management activities. Will coordinate stakeholder consultation processes and maintain unit project tracking systems. Will identify and analyze issues and prepare reports of findings to support policy options and design. Will work with the manager to develop meeting agendas, schedule facilities and audio visual equipment, draft related correspondence, and prepare summary/synthesis of meeting decisions/results. Will develop and implement meeting follow up strategy and coordinates/ensure follow up activities are initiated and completed in a timely manner. Will also assist the manager with issues management including the coordination of briefing notes for the branch/unit, including initiating and coordinating the preparation of briefing notes/material/correspondence. Ideal candidate must have knowledge of policy and program design techniques, related government processes, and research methods in order to conduct policy analysis and assist in the preparation briefing submissions. Must have strong analysis and synthesis skills to identify/highlight appropriate policy issues. Must have strong report writing skills to prepare a range of research findings and briefing materials. Must have strong communication, consultation and client relations skills to participate in stakeholder meetings. Must have strong organizational skills. Must have strong proficiency in MS Office specifically MS Excel, Access to maintain databases and prepare own materials and graphics.
