Job Description: 

Policy Advisor required for a Provincial Government Agency. Responsibilities include providing information research, reviewing, consulting and drafting of policy development projects and issues management activities. Summarizing complex issues into concise briefings or decision notes, and write for purpose (for specific audiences). Request for proposed candidates to submit written samples. Ideal candidate must possess policy experience with reviewing, researching, consulting and drafting. Possess a Post-secondary education and professional experience in finance and strategic planning. Must possess experience translating legislation into operation policy for Government Ministries/agencies. Must possess strong understanding of customer service and interpersonal skills. Must possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills: building simple databases, pivot tables, VLOOKUP. Knowledge and experience running reports and analysing financial information from Microsoft Dynamics (management Reporter) and Prophix is an asset. Must possess a good understanding of strategic financial analyses to identify, analyze, and present different cuts of financial information for clients. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with client departments to help: enter and calendarize budgets and explain financial reports.
