Job Description: 

Junior Purchasing Officer required for a Government Agency. This role will be responsible in receiving day to day purchasing requests, research suppliers and products, and obtain pricing information as required. Will review Purchasing Requisition Forms and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Will generate Purchase Orders, complete authorized signature and place order with vendor and obtain necessary documents from vendors and resolve any issues as needed. Will maintain physical and electronic purchasing files. Will assist with the administration of formal tenders (e.g. RFQs, RFPs, etc.). Administer multiple credit cards/purchasing cards, reconcile monthly statements and forwards to Accounts Payable for payment. Interested candidate must have a purchasing diploma/certificate or equivalent. Must have at least 1 plus year of purchasing experience within a Canadian Public Sector Procurement environment. Must have strong interpersonal skills to communicate with suppliers, contractors and staff. Must have the ability to set priorities and perform multiple tasks; knowledge of office procedures and practices; ability to work effectively and positively with a diverse team.
