Legal Assistant-Corporate <L1>
Legal Assistant with Corporate experience required for a Financial Services firm located in the West-end. Will be providing legal and administrative support for the Legal Department. Will be assisting Law Clerks with maintenance of legal department corporate files. Assisting the General Counsel. Creating and maintaining corporate records in both hard and electronic format. Scheduling meetings. Preparing minutes, resolutions, and other corporate documents as required. Preparing and distributing material for directors’ and shareholders’ meetings. Completing and maintaining corporate documents such as bank and brokerage account opening documents, registration forms, annual returns, corporate resolutions, fund-launch, and maintenance documentation and other relevant corporate documents, as required. Reviewing and amending offering documents. Assists with administrative filings, regulatory filings and fee payments. Drafting and amending agreements. Typing, filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing, and answering the telephones. Populating, updating, and performing other administrative tasks in the database system. Ideal candidate must possess a Post-secondary Diploma in either of the following areas of expertise, Administration/Legal Assistant/Law Clerk. Must possess minimum of 2 years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate environment. Must possess proficient skills with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must possess strong computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet management. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
