Job Description: 

Court Reporter with experience using Liberty Court Recorder required for a Provincial Government agency. Responsibilities are to record verbatim proceedings of courts, depositions, hearings, proceedings, and other events that require written transcripts. Capture spoken dialogue with specialized equipment, including stenography machines, video and audio recording devices, and covered microphones and ask speakers to clarify inaudible or unclear statements or testimony. Prepare and edit transcripts of any typographical errors for the record. Provide, read or play back all or a portion of the proceedings upon request from the judge, lawyers, or the public. Maintain the order of legal documents. Confer with court staff to clarify information. Performing administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. Ideal candidate must possess minimum 1 year or more experience with using Liberty Court Recorder. Must have strong reading comprehension, writing, organizational skills. Must be able to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
